About Caliano Pizza

Caliano Pizza is a pizza restaurant in Chula Vista, California. It is listed at 1655 Brandywine Ave Ste E, Chula Vista, CA 91911, which places it among the local businesses of Chula Vista that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Caliano Pizza at (619) 349-3831; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is calianopizzachulavista.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 252 reviews, which is a strong result for a pizza restaurant in Chula Vista and suggests consistent service.

The pizza was really good, and we enjoyed our first slices. We ordered another slice with peppers, but we didn’t realize it had pepperoni on it. We don’t eat pepperoni, so we asked if we could exchange it for another slice, but they wouldn’t let us. The pizza was tasty, but the customer service could definitely be better. We were disappointed that they couldn’t accommodate such a simple request.

Truly amazing pizza! I’ve been looking for NY style pizza and I’m so glad I don’t have to look any further. I will be back for sure! Thank yall!

We got home and noticed the pizza was kinda burnt on the edges but decided to give it a try anyway. First bite and it tasted burnt/bitter. We looked at the bottom of multiple slices and they were all burnt and black. It was inedible. The top part with the cheese and sausage was good but the burnt taste was just too overpowering. We called them to let them know and the guy on the phone asked who the order was for and said “my coworker didn’t think it was too burnt”. Then he said they can remake it but in an hour because they were very busy. We were already about to arrive so we told them we were coming back right now. We got there and there’s only 2 customers in the restaurant. The big guy with the glasses gives attitude right away, takes the pizza and inspects it and says “That’s too burnt for you?” We say yes we can’t eat it, doesn’t taste good. Then we ask for it to be remade and he says it would take like 30-40 minutes to remake or he can give us a refund. We ask for a refund and my bf is telling him it’s just not edible and he takes the pizza, goes to the back, and we see him throw it to the side where he wasn't visible anymore and it sounded like he punched it a few times. I need every New Yorker to experience Caliano Pizza. It's definitely a taste of home away from home. I ordered an extra cheese pizza pie and the whole family destroyed it. The chopped cheese tasted just like the Bodega IFYKYK. 10/10 Recommend! The only thing missing was the zeppoles. This is by far the best pizza I've had in Chula Vista and will be returning for more.

Originally saw this place on instagram for their burgers - was definitely surprised to find out it was a pizza place! Had the cheeseburger + a beer, and then ended up ordering again; a deluxe cheeseburger and another beer. The burgers are smashed thin and develop a crispy skirt on the edges. They’re really savory, and the toppings either on the regular cheeseburger or deluxe compliment the patties well. Good selection of beer too, which pair perfectly with your burger. I’m 100% coming back for more burgers and the other sandwiches they offer. The guy working the cashier, as well as the cook made great recommendations, and were super friendly. I was also eyeing the pizza options and stuff they had cooked - it looked so good but I’ve only got so much space in my stomach. If you’re in the area, you have no excuse not to check this place out.
